The book "Super Human" was a well written and intense for my taste but well written and descriptive. The end however kind of confused me and I wonder how the continued the series. I like how the author wrote with so much imagination, that was the strength of this book. The weakness was how Pyrokine died at the end and how everyone thinks Krodin dies. This book is the first of the series but I wouldn't read the rest of the series. It was a very descriptive and a good book but I not really into the comic, super hero novels. Someone recommend me this book but it was a boy but maybe that why he was into the immortal human, Krodin. This book was long but I was happy I finished it in the end. Super Human is an action book, about four teens who are just meeting and are trying to save the world from the return of The Fifth King. There is an evil organization called The Helotry, who has infected people across the globe with an artificial plague so that all the grown ups would be dead upon revival of The Fifth King. As all other super heroes, and super villains, not affiliated with The Helotry, are effected by the plague, three super heroes and their, very cunning and intelligent, non-super human friend must try and stop the arrival of The Fifth King. There are a lot of things I like about this book. One main thing is the characters. Specifically, Lance Mckendrick. Lance is a smart and clever teenager. He's the one that comes up with the plans, and even though he is just a human, he's an important, crucial part of the team. Also, he's funny. The way he handles enemy encounters, even when been captured or cornered is entertaining. One of the things I didn't like about the book was the pointless, over description of the action scenes. I didn't like how he described the way they used their powers. I could picture them using them, but the way I pictured is unappealing. It seemed artificial and badly executed. It seemed like Carroll was trying too hard to incorporate a lot of action and power usage into the story to try and keep the readers interested. to me, this was not necessary. The plot and story was just as good without it. I would still recommend Super Human, despite this small bump. I was drawn in by the twist and turns throughout the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes both action and adventure, with the occasional comedy. if you like super heroes or watch shows like Young Justice and the Justice League then you would enjoy this book. If you like the appeal of the whole super hero team up thing, then this is the book for you.
What do You think about Super Human (2010)?
Super Human by Michael Carroll has shot up to my favorites. It is about four teens (later six) working together trying to face an ancient evil, the first superhuman. They also have to band together to defeat the organization trying to revive that ancient evil. This action packed story starts off putting you into the lives of these teens trying to defeat him. Lance the con artist with no abilities, Roz the telepathic soldier, Abigail the super-strong warrior, and Thunder the controller of sound. These four go up against Krodin, the first superhuman. I really liked this book for a couple of reasons. It was a sci-fi novel and I often enjoy those novels and it has superheros in it. Usually I hate books about superheros but this is one book i really got into. It captivated me with it characters and its plot. The setting drew me in and had me imagine what was going on. The only problem that i had with the book was that Lance, depicted as human, does somethings that you would only expect a superhero to do. Its not that he lifts a car or anything it is just some of the situations would require something more. (sorry if vague but not trying to spoil the story)Otherwise it was a very good and captivating story. If you like super-heroes and sci-fi novels i recommend this book to you. It has a great semi-believable plot and characters you would like and care for. For me it is a 4.75 out of 5.

This was a great, action filled book. There were many different types of characters. Lance is a little thief with no superpowers, however, as the story progresses, he sticks to being a good person and helping the other superheroes. Thunder can control sound, Abby can control metal, Pyrokine turns objects into energy, and Roz is telekinetic. There are also other superheroes that I do not want to spoil. I thought the writing of the book was pretty good with high effectiveness, though at times the book felt like really good fan-fiction. Another downside is that, while it doesn't say, it is really the fourth book in a series. I think that this was a marketing strategy to sell more, convincing people that they don't need to read the rest of the series before reading this one, however I feel I would have enjoyed this book more if I had.
