Grabbing the blanket from the end of the bed, she slipped out of the bedroom and down to the kitchen. She winced when Mia whined from her crate, the sound echoing in the quiet house. She crossed the room to open the kennel and Mia followed her hopefully to the refrigerator, where Harley discovered Liam’s sweet tooth was limited to restaurants. He had nothing to snack on. She snagged a bottle of water and closed the door. She jumped when she saw Liam leaning against the counter, arms folded over his chest.
