Rose is young, she should be enjoying life to the fullest but instead she has been thrown in to a world full of evil men that behave like beasts. For two years Rose has been kept as a stripper/sex slave. Too scared to leave, and if she did where would she go. She has been placed in a remote town that is far from anywhere and she knows that even if she was to get away she wouldn't get far. The degradation and horrid things these men do to Rose is unforgivable and right when Rose decides she can't live another day like this in walks her savour. Josh has come for vengeance and also to rescue Rose from the life she has been thrown in to. I was a little surprised that they declared their love for one another so soon but at the same time I'm glad these two have found one another. I'm sure there is to be a lot more drama to come for these two before or if they get their happy ever after. Mild spoilersThis is a solid 3 stars for me (I liked it by goodreads standards). There were times when I sort of skimmed and I thought I'd be disappointed that Josh didn't come into the picture till half way but it honestly worked. The story was built up and not rushed. It is definitely graphic and while it didn't bother me I would caution others....a lot of sexual abuse and very descriptive. I think the reason I hesitate to give 4 or even 5 stars is how quick the love came between the 2. They hadn't seen each other in 10 years and the first day he saves her they're both saying I love you. I get that feelings would be heightened because of the tense situation but maybe just give it a bit more time. Also, the ending came quick. I was shocked to turn the page and see that it was done. But with that said, it also makes me want to read the next because now that the first book developed characters and emotions book 2 should be pretty action packed (at least I hope).
I almost didn't get past the half way point. Very disturbing had trouble reading first half.
