Although the basis of the book is a great idea (meaning a main character with Nephilim and Fallen Angel Blood) the execution is very poor. The main character is meant to be this all powerful being but she doesn't even have the strength to keep her friends safe. Although she killed several hell-hounds in the last book she's still relatively a novice. Her finding out her abilities along the way would have bettered this problem but she has the added complication of a love triangle. Besides causing plot problems the Immortal Bond between the main character and her two suitors is unnecessary. The characters are lovable and have their own quirks however the guardians other than Kade, Dominic, and Malachi don't get enough dialogue. However, the idea of having Lucifer appear as a man just like everyone else and wanting the best for his son is ingenious. Curious to see how things play out in the next book. I have mixed feelings about this one. There were moments I liked, but overall this didn’t really come up to the same level as the last one and certainly not the first. I like the separate relationships between Emma and Kade, and Emma and Ethon, but I still really hate that theirs a triangle at all. Plus, Ethon is a walking contradiction. I sometimes like him, but I don’t want to. He’s nice and sweet and then he goes and acts like a jerk – he is the devil’s son after all.Also, while I’m glad that Emma got to see her old friends, I feel like they’re just thrown in to add another obstacle. They did add a good element though for Emma during the funeral that’s finally held for her parents. It’s very well done and highly emotional. Overall, it had its moments, but it just didn’t have the same vibe from the first two and I didn’t like the plot or the action as much. I still love the characters – the guardians and Emma’s birth parents – though. They’re just fun!Tethered Wings is all about the love triangle so don’t miss out on this installment to learn more about Emma’s dilemma. Just be sure you’ve read the first two books as this does not stand alone at all.
