The Arrangement 16: The Ferro Family (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
Okay. I have read volumes 1-16 back to back via kindle unlimited, so I have not paid the 2.99 per book. (Actually, it's my free trial so I have not paid a dime to read this series.) But even I am a bit frustrated. Besides the never ending drama, several volumes had sections where I felt as tho I was missing something. Seems as tho if a book is only 100 or so pages, the reader should not feel like they missed part of the story. Especially if it's being read as a whole like I am reading it. So I get bringing other friends and family into a series--guest appearances if you will. My first book by Holly was Damaged. I LOVED those books. I had no idea until the very end that it was related in any way to this series. Then I read Stripped and loved that book (and cannot wait for the next). But then the last book was like a preview to Trystan's book (not sure if its out yet or not?) and I was disappointed because I felt it veered off the main storyline. Now we are on The Arrangement 16 and I am reading about Sean's cousin, Bryan, dying. WTH? I had to go back and look through my library because I thought I'd skipped a book. I was so confused because Sean was in the hospital (having saved Avery at the end of #15) and I first thought Bryan was at the concert too and died while trying to save Avery. How had I missed that? Answered simply, I hadn't. After a little more research, I realize this is a storyline from a different series. Now I am totally upset because I liked Bryan in Stripped and had planned to read his books next, but now I have absolutely no desire to do so knowing he dies. Regardless, if you are gonna mix storylines like that, it should be made clear to the reader so they can read those books before moving on. OR... better yet, include more of that storyline in this series. While I have found this series to be a guilty pleasure like Melrose Place and Days Of Our Lives used to be to me, I feel it's past time to wrap it up. It does not have the same feel it did at the beginning and Sean and Avery are losing their spark. If you have kindle unlimited where you can read them all in a month (they can each be read in like 90 minutes), I say go ahead and take a chance. But I would never recommend the books at 2.99 each. Spend your money on Damaged 1 and 2 or Stripped if you want to own a book by Ward. So by the end of the 15th book, I was like NO MORE! I will not buy any more. I will not keep reading into this never ending series. I love HM WARD but how can she keep doing this. I am sure there are many readers out there who are still in love with the Ferro/Granz/Scott/and so on and on family. HOWEVER, I couldn't keep going with the emotional roller coaster that this family has become and so I quit. I was done, finite, se acabo! THAT is until it became available on Kindle Unlimited. When I realized this, I was all for it. Willing to give the series another chance, because after $60+ dollars and no closure I didn't want to spend another dime. But as I said, it became available along with the Proposition 5 which I had also had not read. So normally reading 16 after 15 would be the way to go, BUT because this series has managed to spin a weave of web, I somehow read it out of order. AND This my friends is where my problem lies. The Proposition 5 should have been read before the Arrangement 16. But no, I read it the other way around and I managed to find out about Bryan before I read what appears to be the end of his series. AND SO THIS MY FRIENDS is why I give it one star and after reading the Proposition 5, then I will be done with the series. Free or Not. Its just way too confusing and I don't have time to sit there and rearrange what book is read before which series and is about which brother/cousin/friend. Its way too confusing and way to frustrating to go through. I can't even recommend the series because I don't know how to tell the potential reader what order to read to which series. How can I when I myself don't know anymore. So this is the end for me and the FERRO FAMILY. I wish you luck if you're reading it now. If you haven't started any of the series - I would save yourself the aggravation of any future confusion.
