The Beginning -- A Duet: Ryder & Two Worlds Colliding (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

Favorite Quotes or Lines:"Babe, nothing will stop me if I want to get in somewhere. Breaking in is an undervalued skill, and definitely one of my many talents." He wiggled his eyebrows at me.NADBB had the great privilege of reviewing Jani Kay's books. It was an honor, as a lover of all things MC to review the lady who helped kick off my personal craze. Synopsis:Our couple, Ryder Knox and Jade Summers are billed as a modern day Romeo and Juliet and definitely live up to the billing. The book basically combined previously released books and gave us Jade and Ryder's story in one package.Ryder is a rough and tumble Alpha biker who is more than just a little ragged around the edges. Jade Summers is billed as the good girl. She's everything Ryder shouldn't want, but he can't seem to get her out of his mind. They have everything against them, including at times--themselves. Can they overcome all the obstacles thrown their way and the people in their lives to find happiness together?Review:THE GOOD:Ryder Know was everything good and then some. He made us swoon, he made us hot and bothered, he made us scream, he made us cheer and he made us laugh out loud. We also liked that the books were combined for an easier and handier use for the reader. THE BAD:To be honest we weren't crazy about the heroine in the beginning. She annoyed us and it made us hard to care for her. When these two interacted? We loved it but really wish there had been more of it.THE RATING3.6 to 3.8 We enjoyed Ms. Kay's writing we just wanted it fine tuned a little more in this/these particular book/books. I love MC series. The prequel gives us a chance to learn the characters Ryder and Jade. Jade and Ryder are on complete opposite sides of the spectrum. Ryder calls Jade a "princess" because he thinks she's a spoiled rich girl. Jade sees Ryder as arrogant and cocky, which he is of course! The instant they meet the sparks start to fly! I loved the back and forth banter between the two of them. Jade had no problem giving as good as she got. I like Ryder's alpha side and watching Jade put him in his place. If you're looking to start a new MC series, then definitely check this one out!
