When a convicted serial killer caught by goes geospatial FBI investigator Patrick Bowers is granted a retrial Patrick finds himself forced to prevent his assassination by a relative of one of his victims. He carries the weight of this into his next investigation wherein he finds himself continually trying to catch up to the actions of a pair of serial killers who stage intricate manipulations to enact horrors and torture on their victims. This becomes personal to Bowers as it seems to involve past cases, past associates, and the newly discovered father of his stepdaughter. This is the 4rd Patrick Bowers book. The author continues to create believable and nasty villains without going over the top. It is a good idea to read the prior books to understand the flow of the characters that continue to "evolve". Patrick Bowers is quite good but not to sour. His relationship with his stepdaughter is quite believable if you have ever had a teenage daughter. A fun read. On the the next book in the series.
Always a twist or turn I wasn't expecting.
