The Bronze Blade (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

This was a hard story to read. The unrelenting awfulness of what happens to the main character is really well portrayed, which makes it all the more horrifying. But it was extremely well written (as to be expected from Ms. Hunter) and I love the character. Knowing that happier things were in store for her in the future helped get through the darker moments. I respect that Ms. Hunter really went there and didn't hold back. This book was just unbelievable, if you have not read any of Elizabeth's Elemental Mysteries series you can not fully apprieciate the story of this book. For 4 main series and 3 spin off books we have fallen in love with Tenzen's character with only knowing that she had an aweful beginning of a story. We have begged and pleaded to hear her story and how Tenzen became who she is now. This story is heartbreaking and sad, then it makes you want to reach in the page and hit people because you are so mad. So if you are a EM fan and you are "thinking" about reading the book, you should yourself are you really a Elemental Mysteries fan! Of course you have to read this book, it is every start of an answer about Tenzen you could ask for! If you are looking at the series for the first time I wont tell you not to read this first before the others, its your choice, but I will recommend that you read the first 4 books in the Elemental Series (A Hidden Fire, This Same Earth, The Force of Wind, A Fall of Water) then read this or the series world books. It will make so much more sense to watch Tenzen's character before you read her back story. Now, go one click and read! what are you waiting for! GO! =D
