The Fairest Beauty (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Mind blowing. I didn't realize I could love a book so much! This book is the perfect combination of everything that's good in this world. *sniff* *tear* The cover explains it all. A book set in the beautiful but extremely harsh time of Kings and Queens where a scullery maid is horribly treated by the Duchess because of Sophie 's (the maid) enchanting beauty. The Duchess (being old and not near as beautiful as Sophie) tries to hide the poor girl's real identity and torture her in the process. As you can tell, the story only gets better from there. I recommend this book a thousand times! Maybe I'm just super picky, but this book was not written very well. I actually stopped reading it. It felt like a badly written version of Snow White. It kept saying that "sophie" aka Snow White was extremely nice with no hard feelings for anyone but then she would get really mad at someone for the smallest thing. The characters were all kind of like that. They were supposed to be something by ended up being very weak without knowing why. While I respect the Christianity view of this book, it began to bug me quickly because it was once or twice a page. It slowed down the story. And I probably skipped about half of the book because I skimmed over a lot of those parts. The story did have potential but it just wasn't thought out.
