Honestly, I enjoyed this book for what it was. I got it on audible for sale, and I don't regret it. The entertainment value would be a 4 out of 5. I love mythology, so I appreciate Aimee Carter for giving Hades a roll that wasn't evil. However, it was not the best I felt like I was in a detailed daydream. The complexity was somewhat there, but it was all too convenient for the heroine. It didn't have the shock value I was looking for, nor where the characters any more complex than they needed to be. She was kinda bland and Henry was just... there... All in all, it was a great read/listen for a long commute and entertaining. Not much more than that. While reading this book I realized from the beginning that the book was written loosely based upon the Greek mythological characters but as it was its own story written by the author, not a retelling of the myths I had no issues that the characters weren't 100% true to their attributes. I think the story was very well written and an enjoyable read. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a young adult novel to read, but not someone who wants to tear it apart and compare it piece by piece to the myths. I really enjoyed the characters and am interested to read the following books.
Not my kind of story... Although it was about Greek Mythology, I was bored reading this.
