What would you do if all the lights went out? How would society react? Would we all become savage, desperately doing anything just to secure the survival of our families and more importantly ourselves? Would we be ready to kill at a whim because now that society as we know it is gone right and wrong don't matter anymore? Or maybe...Would people actually become more down to earth and loving toward each other? Would we band together in order to survive? Would the life of another become more valued due to a new and stronger realization of reality?This book suggests the former... in everyone EXCEPT and main characters, of course.After the EMP attacks on the USA society has become more savage and our pool of many heros all have to come in contact with evil man who are so much in Satan's power that they are ready to kill with the most evil of intents. This is a good story, and I'm excited to read the last of the series. I really hope it wraps it up well. For me the problem with these books has never been the story, it's really the writers style... not my favorite. I have a huge problem with everyone in the book having the same characteristics, in this case they all bite, chew or press their lips... Just saying, it bothers me. I'm also feeling like all of the spiritual experiences are way too similar. I'm glad they're having them but, I find that so unbelievable that it takes me out of the story.
This series has steadily grown on me and the best thing about these books is how they've made me think about the last days and possible scenarios of how things will play out. I'll admit I've never been super excited about food storage but these books have given me a little kick in the rear. Also, the story line makes you aware of the battle that rages among the many spirits of good and evil around us that we cannot see.

I'm LOVING this series. It's one one those stories where you can sit back and say, Whoa, this could totally happen, it IS happening all around us. It has completely changed my outlook on the "Last Days" and preparing for the Second Coming of the Savior. We all know it's going to get really bad before it gets better and Chris Stewart has woven a wonderfully complex story portraying the Great and the Terrible!
