Har-har-har!” Dr. Franklin forces a tepid quarter smile. “Topping,” he says, “we have before us a device whose exact provenance is unknown, and at this moment unimportant. What must be done to open it, Topping? That is our only relevant concern.” “Opening it,” Mr. Topping says, “is but half the problem, Franklin.
