*Spoilers in at least one paragraph!*Wow!A most excellent ebook! It poses one of my favourite questions, 'What is honour?' Is Sir William Corbet in the right, a man who has allowed his knightly principles to become the blinkers his decisions are based on? Or Sir Christian Brandon who asserts, 'I keep faith with those who have kept faith with me'? Christian has grown up in a decidedly unchivalric environment despite having 6 brothers who are knights, and has had to deal with situations with discretion, not inflexibility. I love men who are decent and have the ability to love deeply, and both William and Christian were extraordinary (and hot hot hot!).The epilogue was painful, and it reminded me of 'Timeline' (the 2003 film). I know they must die, and I also know they spent 48 years of supreme happiness, but that conclusion just makes me reach for my whiskey bottle! All in all, a wonderful story! ♥♥♥ WoW! Why have I been putting off reading this for so long. Shame on me. It was a very good story. I often don't read historical pieces, but this one seemed interesting. Also, I have read other stories this author and enjoyed them.Just like the other stories I have read, this story is revolves more around the plot(storyline) and even though the attraction is instant, it takes a while until they finally caved into it. It is more than just two men falling in love. It doesn't even have much to do with their status. Back in that time, it was sinful to be attracted to the same sex. Could be punishable by death. We have our younger knight, Sir Christian Brandon. He is the youngest of all his siblings. Besides his sister, all his brothers hate him(especially Malcolm) and his father isn't a fan of him either(blames him for his mother's death). But despite being raised in a tough household, where he had to watch his back all the time, he was well liked by others. He is handsome and he is noble. He isn't full of himself and is faithful and loyal who win his trust. He has always accepted that he is a homosexual. He has always been attracted to men, and then he sees Sir William, a older knight.Sir William is bound and determined to save his sister from a cruel and abusive lord, which happens to be her husband. When he asks for help from Sir Christian's father, he was shot down. Sir Christian jumps at the chance to go with him on his mission. As, they set off on a their mission, just the two of them, their attraction builds up. They fight it as long as they can. Then they have the rescues mission of Sir William's sister(and kids). Sir William is prideful and full of honor. He tries his best to honor what is right. But during his mission he has more than just saving his sister. He has to figure out what is honorable. To his heart or to what society wants him to be.I. Love. EPILOGUES! I love them so much. They are the perfect way to wrap up a stand alone story, if written well. And this one wrapped it up so perfectly. Definitely would recommend this if you are looking for a nice romance with a little adventure to it with a HEA.
What do You think about The Lion And The Crow (2013)?
This was fabulous. I honestly was stunned it was LHNB and that it's free. Loved.
