Les Ennuis Riment Avec Tony (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

Let me preface this whole review by saying I didn't want to read this story, but I have a problem. When a book is part of a series I have to read the series in order. It doesn't matter if the books aren't related. And I really want to read books 2 & 3 in this "Sex in Seattle" series. And as it turns out one of the characters from the 3rd is briefly introduced in this book- even it that makes no difference to that story. So that's me.Anyway, I read the blurb and this story didn't do it for me. But I read it anyway, and it still didn't do it for me. I have read a run of books about scarred men (not on purpose, but just an interesting coincidence) and a few with useless mysteries. And this had both. This book had a mystery that I guess is technically the reason this story happens, but it doesn't feel urgent. It's not a mystery that I'm invested in. I don't care about it in any way except that if it get solved the the MCs can be honest with each other. I guess the problem is that the death doesn't seem to even a blip on the radar of the doctor so it doesn't feel like that big of a deal. There's also a weird lack of insight into the doctor despite reading many of his POVs. Family, friends whatever, except for a few brief mostly professional exchanges with another doctor at the practice, there isn't anything that stuck with me. I mean there isn't a lot about Tony, but we get a decent sense of his family- particularly his "ma" and one of his brothers. I guess I just want more. Oh, and the fact that the doctor is a sex therapist icks me out a little that he fell for a patient. Because let's be clear, Tony was a patient. False pretense or not, his "problem" was a real one. And everything just seemed to conveniently drop away for them to get together....I don't know. The story just didn't come together for me. But I really like this author, so for the love of reading, don't make this the first book you read by Eli Easton. I do love a good love story. PI Tony DeMarco is on the case when he meets Dr. Jack Halloran. You see, Tony is in his late thirties and yet only really ever been attracted to 4 men, in his life. And he's just met number 5! But the Doc is a suspect in the case Tony is working for the White family. Their daughter "overdosed" but her parents aren't buying it, and the investigation led Tony to the clinic where Jack works. Jack Halloran is an Iraq war vet that joined the military right out of medical school, and his body carries the scars from an IED. He realizes his job isn't the most conventional, a doctor at a sex therapy clinic, but he enjoys his work. He's never, ever gotten involved with a patient but Tony pushes all the right buttons. Can the sexy Doc keep things strictly professional when a tall, dark and handsome Italian man is hovering over him telling him how bad he wants him? This book was just all kinds of fun and not to long to weigh it down. There was a little but of suspense while Tony really did try to keep it professional and do his job. But then there was the constant sexual tension that was sizzling between him and Jack that had me on the edge of my seat throughout. Let's just say, I don't think I'll ever be able to look at a pair of stirrups the same way again!

What do You think about Les Ennuis Riment Avec Tony (2000)?

This was a short, fluffy read.. not much of a mystery, more cute funny.. hot sex what's not to like
