The Noticer Returns: Sometimes You Find Perspective, And Sometimes Perspective Finds You (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
My husband received this book (autographed!) at a recent company function. As an ardent admirer of Andy Andrews and his wonderful motivational books and talks, I was delighted in his latest saga about life and his endearing "Jones", someone we all need and actually have if we will just pay attention. I recommend this title for parents, and for those searching to find meaning in their life and ways to fulfill their dreams by thinking out of the box. I learned about "jubilees", where fish will swim to the shore in hordes, easily caught in masses. Andrews uses this idea to help the characters in his latest book meet their needs and begin to fulfill their own dreams. One of my favorite quotes in the book is on page 169: "Most people live under the misconception that it takes a long time to change. This is not true. It can take a long time to prepare to change or to decide to change, or even to want to change. Change itself, however, happens in a heartbeat (from the wisdom of "Jones"). I read The Noticer and was so inspired by Jones that I immediately jumped into The Noticer Returns. I love that he touched more on parenting in this book. There are so many lines in the book that I underlined but the list of ultimate results that we should want for our kids as adults was one for the bathroom mirror. More often than not, doing "the best you can" is just not enough. We need to raise kids of character who actively do what is right. We need to demand results of this quality or the future of our country is going to continue to spiral downward. Be extraordinary!!! I know this is not a "religious" book but I sure do get glimpses of Jesus in Andy's writings.

I loved The Noticer, this one, less so. I found it hard to follow.
