Unfortunately I didn’t like this book as much as the first one. The story was intriguing, yes, but I couldn’t really connect to the characters. There is Aaron’s longing for his asshat friend Gregory... but after finally meeting him, his longing miraculously ceases to exist.Jesse, Gregory’s younger brother has yearned for Aaron so long but Aaron treats him more like a sibling. At first Aaron doesn’t feel any attraction, he’s even kind of disgusted of Jesse’s beard. I’m not sure why or when his wariness suddenly turns to attraction and then love? All in all, it was a nice romance with some drama at the end. If you've read the previous book you'll enjoy to catch up with Dean and Anthony…. and you even get a glimpse of Henry and Locke, the MCs of the third book. Story 4Narration 4The first part of this book is quite slow and begins with a flashback to when Aaron and Jesse are still kids. Jesse falls in love with Aaron from a very young age but Aaron has eyes only for his older brother Gregory. When Aaron kisses Gregory it all goes wrong and he ends up running off the Army for the next 10 years.Ten years on and Aaron is leaving the army on a medical discharge and is back at home living with his mother in a bit of a rut. He still wonders about Gregory and he still holds him on a pedestal but the two haven’t spoken to each other in over a decade. With nothing better to do he agrees to head out to visit Jesse and try to persuade him to attend a party.Jesse always felt like the odd one out in his family as a child. This has only worsened as he got older and he spends all his time living as a recluse in a small cabin. He has never gotten over his childhood crush but he realises what a waste of time it is and that Aaron only sees his older brother. When the two first meet face to face again at the cabin Jesse is surly and quite angry at Aaron for his apparent absence from his life but without a doubt he still has feelings for the other man. A car breakdown means they end up spending more time together than planned and on the final day when Aaron kisses Jesse he panics and runs. Then Aaron finally comes face to face with Greg, he is still as handsome as ever but really the guy is a pompous ass, and he suddenly realises how blind he has been. How could he think it was Greg he still wanted after all this time when in fact he had fallen for his younger brother who is a far more beautiful and sensitive person? Not everyone is happy about Jesse and Aaron getting together and initially I wanted to strangle Aarons mother especially when he becomes ill and has to spend time in the hospital. Jesse has to get over his fear about not being in familiar surroundings to fight for his man and make him well again but it all works out in the end.
