The Ranch Foreman (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Finally the man is publishing after years of free online fiction! I'm so happy for him :D there is something unique about Rob's stories that just pull my heartstrings. Of course it is always the little guy falling for the bigger, often a bit bearish guy. So it is his formula and it works, brilliantly. Rob's stories always feels so innocent and truthful and I never get bored of them. I think I have ad his fe fic several times which I hardly ever do with other stories. They are my comfort reads I suppose. There is sex, a lot of it in his stories. The Ranch Foreman is no diffent but the sex is not excessive at all. There is also a moment of abuse for the mc Matty, which also is a common theme with Rob. And as always the love interest becomes a hero. The story is completely told from Matty's perspective and Baxter, the foreman is left a bit distant and his past is never revealed. I think maybe some readers might not like Baxter for this, but after reading so many Rob's prior works I structud a loveable charater of him in my own mind after the clues dropped in the story. There is no HUGE climax with the plot and it is a very TRF is a very fast read. I wish this story would have been longer and the issues digged deeper, but as a shorter story I felt it was compact and satisfying. I would reacommend anyone who liked this story to take a closer look on Rob's free fic also. You will not be disappointed! You rock Rob! Absolutely loved this book!It has all the right ingredients for me: age difference and cowboys ;P I was hooked from the start, since like Matty I like older man, and I really didn't see Baxter as such an asshole. Sure his behavior pissed me off more often, than not, but I could understand his motives and sympathize with them. Like he himself said he's a middle-aged closeted cowboy, cut him some slack. The story was rather short and Baxter's indecision and uncertainty didn't feel dragged out to me, but just realistic. It would seem strange if he'd embraced openly gay lifestyle on the ranch right away. And I loved seeing the glimpses of his true feelings for Matt when he gave him comfort and support at the moments of grief. The ending was very sweet and just so satisfying *happy sigh*Oh, and I've said that before and I'm saying it again: I do prefer sex scenes written by men and here they've been smoking hot.All in all loved this story and I'd like to read more about these guys someday :) Maybe something about the poor Doc, since he's been deprived here :D
