He’d been able to convince the woman he’d brought back from the forest that they were husband and wife. That the reason she didn’t remember him was because she’d hit her head and had amnesia. And so far she’d bought it. Or, at least, she appeared to. But he didn’t want to keep her tied to the bed forever. Sure, it was convenient for… her main purpose. But he wanted more from her than that. He wanted her to cook and clean and wash his clothes for him. And she couldn’t do any of that as long as one of her wrists was handcuffed to the bedpost. He knew that the longer she lay there, unable to move, the more time she’d have to think about the story he’d fed her. And the more time she’d have to try to remember. He finally decided to free her.
