I am a Duck Dynasty fan and I am a Robertson Family Fan. I really enjoy the show, the Instagram, the books, the music, my husband loves the duck calls and hunting videos.That being said, you will find it no surprise I really enjoyed this book. It is so good that these women who have 'got it together' share that it wasn't always that way. It took time and lots of work. You look at them now and see great kids, amazing relationships with their husbands, a Godly home; basically perfect lives. But you'd never believe the walks of life these women have taken. It is so amazing that with God and elbow grease you can make your dreams come true. I don't think I'd call them "surprising" insights, since there was nothing earth-shattering, at least to me, but I was impressed by the apparent honesty and basic truth that was re-affirmed through these women's stories. I was particularly impressed by their apparent awareness that the fame of their family is a powerful chance to make a Christian voice heard in America, but it is also a temporary thing that should not deeply change the values of their family.
