The Yeti Files #1: Meet The Bigfeet (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
OK, I picked this up because I recognized the art style from a cryptid T shirt I bought for my husband. Happily, my t-shirt dollars were well spent. This book is really cute. It has a very Cartoon Network tone, funny jokes, and interesting, sympathetic characters. Plus, there are lots of Wes Anderson/Richard Scarry style spreads of cool clubhouses and backpack contents. Meet The Bigfeet is a TV cartoon in book form, and that is awesome. A cute story about a Yeti who is invited to a family reunion. His cousin was caught on camera, many years ago, and has since disappeared. Now, the family wants to find him. But, the cryptozoologist who took cousin Brian's picture is at it, again. Can they stop him before the entire family is exposed? The reason I gave this book three stars rather than a higher rating is the fact that there's so much going on in each spread. I'm a little on the ADD side and busy illustrations tend to make my head spin. I recommend flipping through the book before purchasing. The story is a fun one but I think one's taste in the illustrations may vary.
What do You think about The Yeti Files #1: Meet The Bigfeet (2014)?
The illustrations are adorable, but there isn't much of a story--even by children's book standards.
