There's No Place Like Home (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
I loved the beginning of the series, but I think it just got annoying after a while. I like how the series wrapped up, and this 3 stars is a lot higher than the 3 stars I gave the last couple, if that makes any sense. I guess it's because the things that I've been so annoyed about and couldn't stand about the characters finally got resolved and "all is well," but that doesn't make up for the fact that it took THIS long, and yet was so easy, having the ending be so incredibly 'perfect'. I didn't actually find the dream sequence as annoying as so many people are saying, but there were things put in that didn't make any sense and then just ignored. The fake scripts, essays, and articles were also not really believable... But in general it's still a good wrap up to the series, and for a younger audience not terribly bad, because it is an original concept, and very amusing. Although it's not as good as some of the other books in the series (the 5th one is my favorite!) it wraps the series up nicely. Kaitlin is on her own tv show with Skye, called Small Fries, but her mom is controlling everything and overbooking her (she wants her to do two movies during the hiatus!). She also has to decide if she wants to go to college (USC) or not. On her 18th birthday she gets into a car crash and enters a Wizard of Oz like dream where she's in a different "dimension" with an alter Kaitlin, Matty, mom, Liz, etc and doesn't have her own tv show, but is normal Kaitlin who goes to Clark High. There she learns some valuable lessons that will help with who is and who she wants to be.
