Another freebie, far better than the Jolie book.Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.5 stars... I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP. This is more of a review written on behalf of all six books not just book one. I have an OCD tendency when it comes to books and I can't seem to pull myself away until I finish. On that note, I hate starting series when they are still in the works and not all released! I'm so impatient.... Lol These were short books averaging about 250 pages. This is great for quick reads I can't stand when stories are drawn out with unnecessary details and random ass boring filler text! And that's not to say that they were too short or fast paced, I felt they were perfect in flow and activity level with not too much over detail and random BS that we really don't care about. While there are some editorial errors throughout the book the over all story was enjoyable. It's nothing new with ebooks and new authors that we find multiple errors throughout. I personally use to get annoyed with this but have learned to just over look it. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing but...I enjoyed the characters even though there are a lot of similar aspects between this series and Mallory's other series, Jolie Wilkins. Mainly the hottie Loki, Knightley Vander and the handsome uptight warlock Rand Balfour's descriptions, as well as vampires Sinjin and Bram's looks are quiet similar. I Might feel like this because I happen to read both series back to back. The characters had similar looks but quiet different personalities. As far as originality I thought Knightley Vander (a.k.a. knight, the Loki) was unique. He had some amazing abilities and the idea is definitely a new addition to paranormal stories. A creature spawned from hades fire designed after hades himself, built to be an ultimate soldier for the netherworld (very original indeed). Definite points for Mallory. Might I also add that there are some pretty hot and heavy scenes in this series that had my blood going! More points for Mallory because I couldn't get enough of Mr. Vander's beastly sexual appetite! The first book has some good stuff but the plot definitely picks up around book three and four
What do You think about To Kill A Warlock (2000)?
Fun read. Great characters and interesting plot.
