It was typecasting, sure—but could he sustain that level of success in a show that didn’t showcase rock stars? I never would have said anything to him—but I worried. Not that I didn’t have confidence in him—I did. I think I had more confidence in him than he had in himself. He’d hesitated when Arnie told him about this audition, almost six months ago now.
