GREAT book! It's few and far between that a book causes me to truly care about the characters, to squeal or shriek in excitement, to eagerly snatch up the next in the series to begin reading right away, but this book did! I LOVED this book. I loved the characters, I loved the descriptions that made me envision everything just so, I loved the time period and atmosphere. I loved the castle. I could not wait to see what happened next and I love the setup that allows for such unique surprises. Who knew what the castle would do? When a castle becomes a character it is so much fun! Recommended for all fans of Harry Potter, Tamora Pierce books or the Septimus Heap series. Worth the read to anyone who likes children's fantasy really! ♥ A light and fun read for the younger end of the YA spectrum. When the king and queen go missing, presumed dead, the remaining prince and princesses must deal with those that come to take advantage of them and the situation. The youngest, princess Celie, is the heroine of the story and has a special connection to the magical Castle Glower, which becomes a major asset in their effort to protect themselves and their kingdom. I was a little disappointed in the ending, much of which happens off page, and the way the conflict wraps up so quickly and neatly at the end but overall I really enjoyed this book.
