Un Cupcake Con Mr Darcy (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I've got no work done today at all, because I had to sit down and finish reading this book.First of all, if anyone is looking for the perfect book to put on their holiday/christmas TBRs, something to read cuddled up in a blanket, in front of a fire with mulled wine (or tea) in their hand: stop looking, this is it!It's got everything you could possibly want from a story, the ups and downs of a new relationship that two young people rush into, with the minor complications of being a celebrity vs. the major complications of being human and having a backstory. This book has two amazing young main characters, and a brilliant ensemble or supportive characters, all well rounded and thought out. You can't help but fall in love with all of them (except for the "villains" of course, and yes, I am looking at you Manager-Person-I-don't-even-want-to-remember-the-name-of), even when they are being stupid and stubborn. How not to fall in love with Billy Buskin? I don't know. Thank you Gi for this wonderful story, I can't wait to read more from you soon. Much like Jude Law's character in The Holiday, "I'm a major weeper!"Beautiful, very touching, and sometimes gutwrenching. A bit on the slim side, I never felt like there was time to get a proper view on the characters, so they felt a bit flat to me. But god, I love them anyway, which is what's important. Molly - to my great surprise and to the author's acclaim, as I find that just that was a very well constructed set-up - in particular came to mean a great deal to me by the end of the book.As the blurb says, the parts set in Kent and Tea-on-the-Hill are unbelievably charming, and doubtlessly my favourites. They are really what make this book stand out to me, and bring it all together. And although I found the ending a bit abrupt, I was really pleased with this book when I put it down just moments ago. :3
