I have mixed feelings about the Harlequin presents line. I'm not a huge alpha male fan and the ridiculous wealth etc can drive me crazy. But at times, they can all be fun quick escape reading with relationships that transcend the goofy trappings. I enjoyed this novella but read it a few months ago and can't comment too much. (The curse of failing to review something right away! Urgh!!) I enjoyed this prequel. It was very fast. I liked Emily's character and laughed to myself when she got the call from her informant, saying she had told her the wrong lake they were going to drain but didn't know which one it was going to be, Emily didn't call her editor (ex-boyfriend) to tell him that. Later she was watching TV and saw Dianne standing in the rain reporting nothing.. HaHa she got hers in the end. Poor Dianne so humiliated. I know this isn't what the book is about but I loved it.
good but it should have been longer
