I absolutely LOVED this one. The story is adorable. The pictures have a really unique look that I enjoyed. I had seen this book in a store while I was pregnant, not bought it, and regretted it. After the babe was born I saw the book again and immediately got it. I'm so glad I did! This will be a part of our 31 Nights of Not So Much Horror, Halloween stories tradition as long as the kid will allow! Dagmar is not like most vampires. He is very gentle and only eats vegetables and candy. One night, he realizes he is out of candy. How will he ever get more? Well his friends mention Halloween, so Dagmar decides to go out, but doesn't have a costume. When he tells his parents is going trick or treating, they are furious and forbide him to go. Dagmar gets so upset he turns into a bat and flies away. While on the town, he sees a costume shop and decides to be garlic. His parents finally agree to let him go out, but he realizes that zombie moths have eaten his costume. Again he flies out to town as a bat, and sees everyone trick or treating. He meets a human girl in a ghost costume and he turns back into a vampire. They spend the evening together getting candy. Dagmar is very happy with his new candy stash.
