This was a pretty good beginning to the Benjamin Pratt & the Keepers of the School mystery series. While the mystery isn't solved it sets the wheels in motion by introducing the characters as they start to uncover clues that will help them save their school from unscrupulous amusement park developers. This would be a good series for reluctant readers as the books are under 200 pages with text that is broken up by occasional illustrations. WIIA: 1 boy is suddenly giving care of an important item. He and a friend need to save the school from it impending doom of being knocked down for an amusement park to takes its places. Will the coin lead them to what they need to save the school?Pros: I love the author his causal way of writing about kids is something I adore! It was fascinating and I enjoyed the pictures inside!Cons: A tad weird, and yet generic if that makes sense.Iffy: The boy's parents are divorced.
Not up to the standard I expect from Andrew Clements. Not bad though.

A series for young readers who've started to read chapter books.
