Slow pace. A bit boring, which is hard to do when you write about awesome fae.I so wanted to low this book.The plot was ok, but the writing is where it lost me. The skill of writing reminded me of 50 shades, of a new author who didn't have a good editor. No huge mistakes but moreso a lack of skill that negatively impacted pace and momentum and depth. Ben the sex scenes were somehow diminished by crappy writing and editing. This writer has great potential and I will read her other book so on hopes that she either got better or got a new editor.Good characters, plot, secondary characters, ok world building. #1 in the Dark Magick series. I read book 2 three years ago and loved it, book 1 was just as good! I hope that when I get ahold of books 3 & 4 that I'm equally pleased. These are the best of Paranormal Romance writing - well-written characters, good main story and good back story, a believable romance with good sex scenes, a good amount of action, no overly-done "scenes of peril" (those are REALLY annoying), and excellent world-building. Get them all and read them all!
