Wings Of The Morning (2004) - Plot & Excerpts

I really liked this book. I especially liked the main character, Smokey. I liked how strong and confident she was in her profession as a sea captain. I also liked how it was contrasted by how awkward and inept she was in social situations. I liked her determination. And I liked how much she relied on God. At times it felt like a bit much, since I don’t know that I would have as easily turned to the Lord when faced with the trials she experienced, but I did like how she and the other characters turned to the Lord to help them in their trials. I liked the plot and I liked the other characters, except for the despicable pirate, of course. Content: Clean, recommended for ages 14+See my review at http://www.iamareader.com/2013/10/boo...

What do You think about Wings Of The Morning (2004)?

Absolutelty LOVED this book! Out of the Kensington Chronicles, this one is my favorite. Full of adventure and romance, it's wonderful. I read it in one day! :)I have noticed that other people have not liked this book as much as the other ones in this series, but for some reason I still liked this one the most. I think that when you can relate to the character in some way the book is more enjoyable. I don't know if this is relating to the character, but I also have long(not waist length though, but it used to be) black hair. And to be really honest here, I think since I am an adolescent I enjoyed the romantic aspect of this book. So those are just my musings as to maybe why I liked this book extremely.

Honestly, I laughed and mocked it all the way through. The storyline was interesting but oh, it has been years since I read a Christian romance, and it was hilarious. I spent most of my evening reading aloud to members of my family and we cracked up at the dialogue and descriptors. I wonder what makes it so hard to have well-written Christian romance novels....and why, when they are written in such mediocre style, is there SUCH a demand? Lori Wick has written and published dozens of books. And admittedly, when I was 13-15, I probably read every one. Maybe that's why. Silly young teenagers LOVE them.
