More like 3.5-3.75. Much better than I was expecting. to be honest, I can't give this a 'fair' rating because it's a little young for me, but honestly, this reminded me of goosebumps so much, which I used to love. It had just a fun feeling to it, which I enjoyed so much. If I was in 4th grade, It would have been a 5-star book, honestly. I don't think I will continue with this series, but if I ever see the second book browsing the bookstore, I definitely will give it a chance. Although the premise is fun, I didn't find myself engaging with the characters in this book. Billy is sort of blah, and Hoover, the ghost, is annoying. I would like to see if the kids take to it any better.I think this is trying to be a hi/lo book (Billy is 11 going on 12 and is starting middle school), but the writing style makes him seem younger. I am not sure a 6th grader would find this appropriate reading.
What do You think about Zero To Hero (2012)?
Billy has to enlist the aid of a ghost when harassed. A satisfactory first book in a series.
