Just finished the arabic version of this masterpiece . I remember holding my breath during reading afraid that a hint of the scent reach my nostrils. Being an arabic woman and a citizen of one of the gulf countries, I had a degree of shame haunting me as if i was the one responsible for this melodrama. I'm sorry The descriptive method used was essential and it was well employed. Love how this story captivated me and prisoned me away from my luxurious air-conditioned apartment and thrown me for two days between the goats and sheep. The book captures the life of Najeeb who landed in Gulf with dreams and aspirations but ends up living a life that he had never foreseen. The portrayal of life of an unfortunate few in the sands of gulf is an eye opener. Based on a true life story of an expat, the story alone makes reading the book worth while. This was my first book of Benyamin and I think enjoyed the story rather than the authors writing style. I rate this 4 stars simply because of the storyline that was beyond anything that I have come across in real world.
എന്തുകൊണ്ടോ എനിക്ക് പ്രിയമായില്ല.
