If only jury duty were this exciting. Our heroine, Katherine "Kitty" Katt (yes, the author really named her lead character that) is leaving the courthouse when she witnesses an argument spiral out of control, and one of the participants turns into a flying demon. Instead of running scared, Kitty gets pissed and attacks. She even manages to kill the things-with a pen. So, turns out the winged thing was an alien, surprise. Now Kitty is making new friends and discovering things about her family she never knew. Oh, and there is a big bad that only she can stop, but you can't keep a fan girl down. There were three main things that really bothered me about this book.1) The concepts of the world (superpowers, technology, religions, etc...) are all introduced through long, boring conversations.2)The relationships are shallow and cheesy seeming. Guys in the book fall in love with the heroine instantly. EVERYBODY is ridiculously good looking. Everybody thinks almost everybody else is amazing and says so right after meeting them. There's a love triangle already starting in the first chapter. It's just boring.3)The world building is really poorly thought out. It's important in a sci-fi book that you be able to suspend your disbelief and I couldn't do that with this one. It was too ridiculous. I get that this was meant to be more of a light-hearted, humorous kind of book, but it just wasn't funny enough for that.
What do You think about Aliens In Armani (2011)?
I'm not sure how this book ended up in my pile. It was like a really cheezy action movie.

Pretty good. I liked the sassy, wisecracking heroine and the other characters.
