Alice faces down more human traffickers, all the while revealing her past to Reese, trying not to betray Trace and finally getting a female friend in Pepper. Another great book by Ms. Foster.10 out of 10 Great second book in the series! It picks up just where Run the Risk ends. Sexy detective Reese Bareden ends up staying on the couch of reclusive neighbor Alice Appleton due to the fact his apartment is a crime scene. While he's there he is determined to learn her secrets. The story goes in all kinds of directions from human trafficking, tattoo markings on women, drug mules and hostage situations. Alice comes out her shell and her attitude changes from shy and reclusive to an outspoken butt-kicking, stun gunning woman! I love the other characters and they way they are coming together almost as a family. The interaction with Reese's dog Cash is heartwarming. Let's not forget about the HOT smoking sex!!!! I have to say that I loved the appearance of Trace from her earlier series "Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor" series. I also listened to this on audible and that gentleman is a great narrator. All in all a great read! I can't wait to begin Rowdy's story!
