Getting Rowdy (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Rowdy bought a bar. Avery was working there as a waitress before he bought it. He promoted her to bartender. The bar changed into a nice place to work. Rowdy is a steaming hot man. He has made Avery aware that he is interested in her. But Rowdy is a hit it and quit it kind of guy. Avery wants to be the every night girl. They start to get to know each other better after Avery walks in on him in his office with a woman. He tells her that she could have him any time. But Avery's past walks in the bar one night - her step-father. He tells her that her mother has breast cancer and it opens Avery past to Rowdy. He feels he needs to protect her. Especially after the man her parents have picked out for her comes after her.I really liked this book. Rowdy and Avery were a hot couple. No way...Supposedly bartender/heroine Avery ignores the fact that she walks in on the "hero" of the story being serviced by one of his one-night stands in his office and THEN decides she's going to sleep with this jerk. And he admits to boinking a different woman every night. Oh, that's the man I would want. Can you say STD?And the way Yates felt about women. One quote from earlier in book. This is Yates thinking. "Did she honestly think he'd go mewling to a woman if he did have a problem?" Wow - lot of respect there for women in general.Get some self-respect, Avery. She goes from one abusive relationship into another with this meathead. And a "hero" named Rowdy Yates after Clint Eastwood's character from the TV show RAWHIDE? His mom supposedly liked Eastwood so she names him after a character from a show that ran from 1959-1966. Exactly how old was his mom supposed to be before she died?NOTE: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
