Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched The World (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
Dewey, The Library Cat A quick and cute read. Librarians, cat lovers, and book readers will love this cute cat read. It's fast paced and sure to make you smile. Dewey was found in the book drop one very cold day in Iowa by the branch manager, Vicki. Quickly enough he becomes the library cat, known and loved by most patrons and staff. His name becomes famous around the world as people want to see Dewey the library cat. This isn't the best written book out there but its cute enough to enjoy. I work in a public library and could never see us having a library cat. But the fact that it happened is very cool. (As I am a cat person I wish we could have a library cat!). "Dewey" by Vicki Myron, is a nonfiction book because it's a true story. Dewey is an abandoned kitten who was stuffed into the Spencer Public Library and instantly loved. He wins the heart of Vicki Myron, who is a single mother with a sad background. I rated this book 3 of out 5 stars because it was very heart-warming and about Vicki Myron's life history, which was sad, but I couldn't stop reading it. I didn't give it 5 stars because the author's writing was more dull and not interesting as I hope. Overall "Dewey" by Vicki Myron, is a book you can cuddled up to with a cup of cocoa.
