It just keeps getting better. The characters are so complex even the minor ones. It is a joy to read a well written story about complicated people. I love that Nick is so patient with Sam. I love that Sam is trying so hard. It's great that they both realize what they have together and are willing to keep working at it. The crime was heartbreaking and was really "pulled from the headlines". I am anxious to read the next book. Still really enjoying this series.This time around we get to see more of the secondary characters and they are all fantastically written that I didn't mind being pulled away from Nick and Sam. As the series develops it definately seems to me to be more about the group of a whole and I like that. I love the way Nick and Sam friends seem to be incorparating with each other (even if Sam doesn't).
