Finding Colin Firth (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I really enjoyed this book -- fun plot, and it was set in Boothbay Harbor, where we often go on vacation. I do have to say though, that at times the plot was predictable. And that the writing was poor -- the grammar and phrasing left a lot to be desired in places. I don't understand why the editor didn't do a better job of fixing such mistakes. And conversations seemed a bit contrived and awkward and rushed. But the story itself made up for some of that. It was a relaxing read that I enjoyed overall. Ich fand das Buch total schön, auch wenn ich mir was anderes darunter vorgestellt habe. Laut Beschreibung geht es um drei Frauen und ein Diner, was mich denken ließ, dass die Frauen in dem Diner sitzen und sich kennen lernen. Aber das Diner war eher nebensächlich. Jedes Kapitel wurde aus der Sicht einer anderen Frau geschrieben und so konnte man jede der drei Frauen intensiv kennen lernen. Das Getue um Colin Firth hat mich etwas genervt, aber da das Buch im Original ja "Finding Colin Firth" heißt, war damit zu rechnen. Alles in allem war es ein schönes Buch und ich würde es sicher gern irgendwann noch einmal lesen.
