I haven't read any of the other books in this series but I really liked Ford, he was great. Ok so he could be an ass but he was a lovable ass. Ashleigh was okay, I really liked her at times and then at other times I wanted to slap her but overall she was good for Ford. I don't usually like babies in books well any time actually but even Kate got to me kind of like she got to Ford I suppose. I really hated this Rook chick, she was totally selfish and acted like a complete idiot. I mean talk about clingy even though I don't want you, I expect you to stay and be miserable so you can be at my beck and call. Seriously let the man leave without you chasing him like some moron and I don't know maybe worry about the man you chose. I really wanted to read Spencer's story but since I see that it is a must to read Ronin and Rook's trilogy before reading his book, I have to pass. I couldn't stand to read 3 books of Rook's crap so I guess this will be my last one of these. I had a hard time connecting with Ford. J.A. Huss did a good job of weaving his history and issues, but it really took me a long time to like him. He was selfish, self absorbed and I had enough of reading about his love for Rook. I realized he loved her, but I was ready to move on. I did like Ashleigh. I liked how she handled Ford. I felt some of the story was predictable. Overall, it was entertaining ... 3.5 stars.
