“If these kidnappers want to talk to me, they will do so in Italian or they will get rudeness in return. And even if they do speak to me in Italian, I’ll still be rude because I am unhappy, and as long as I’m unhappy, I’m going to make sure everyone around me is unhappy too.”“ Please, kiss me.” Francesca asks Brody over and over again. Brody traces the outline of her lips with his thumb, but he reminds her, he wants her first kiss to be perfect. That doesn’t stop her chest from rising a little quicker as her heart rate picks up pace every time Brody is near her. Francesca has no problems swooning over Brody… The first kiss they share is oh so sweet.. Francesca has lived her life with no close friends, no talking about home, no pictures with her dad, and a close relationship with her stepmother. She soon realizes life with the Sullivan’s, having a family, brother’s, sister’s, chores, set family time all the things she’s been fighting with this family not to have, is wonderful…The road to finding out if Francesca is really Fiona Sullivan is a bumpy one between the FBI with their SWAT team, laser guns, long black cars, big guys jumping out of the woods the day she ran away. Her father coming and taking her back from the Sullivan house before the summer is over, and Brody and the Sullivan’s having to find her. Far-fetched? Absolutely. Enjoyable? Completely.Honestly, Losing Francesca was not entirely believable. The bulk of the story takes place over a period of days and "Francesca" falls in love with her new found family and her long lost childhood love. Or, you know, complete strangers depending on if you believe Francesca is really Fiona. At any rate the timeline didn't work for me, and Francesca constantly has changes of heart. The book, the plot, the characters were somewhat shallow and unrealistic. All that said, I really enjoyed this book. It was an ultra fast, fun read and I barely put it down. It was the first book in months that I (mostly) read in one setting and I had fun doing it. So, if you are looking for a fun, readable, and fast paced new-adult book and don't take it too seriously then this is a great Sunday-in-bed book.
