We looked like Dorothy’s Kansas friends in The Wizard Of Oz and we admired Tom Edison and his good old gumption and stick-to-it-iveness. What a geek. You’ve got to have obscure but essential technology before geekdom can be cool, however. You don’t really start admiring geek qualities until one of them saves your ass by bringing back your corporate LAN or fixing the missile telemetry.
