This was a sweet book. So sweet in fact, I couldn't even finish it. By the time I was 2/3 of the way through I just couldn't handle the saccharine plot any longer. I would probably have loved the book if it was half the length, 63 pages is too long for the story. I don't demand angst in my stories, but I would like just a teeny, tiny bit of imperfection or struggle. If I was a little less grumpy I probably would have finished it. This is more like a 2.5 for me. It wasn't awful, but there isn't really a story here. No conflict, nothing for the couple to overcome. We're just along for the ride during the first three, perfect days of the couple's relationship. A lot of page time was spent telling the reader how wonderful these guys are. It would have had more impact, and given the reader a chance to connect more with these characters, if we'd been allowed to see it by their actions instead. It's all insta-love and unrealistic sappiness. I liked the guys well enough, what I knew of them. They were just kind of bland. (It should tell you something that I had to go back and check the character names, even though I just finished reading it- Blake and Ryan.) An inoffensive, but also unmemorable, holiday read.
What do You think about Got Mistletoe? (2009)?
Simple said its sweet story in Christmas time, with love at first sight. Short and sweet.
