His Christmas Wish (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

OK, so its after Christmas already but I've still got heaps of Christmas stories to catch up on :)I loved this story, Daniel was a little sweetheart and his talks with God at the beginning and end of the story brought tears to my eyes. His Christmas Wish is a gentle and easy to read story about making a child's wish come true that I thought made a wonderful and heartwarming start to Andie Anderson's Men of Charlstown series. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series - Yummy Indulgences. This is the third book of Ms. Anderson that I read (the other two are just too saccharine for me). This one, for me, is better than the other two. I'm a sucker for kids in ANY M/M romance; so having one in here is a bonus. Both Josh and Nick are likeable protagonists, though I have my favor towards Nick. Hey, any 20 years old male who loves kids and wants to have his own daycare definitely gets my love. I enjoy the build up for the relationship, taking it slowly, as Nick making connection first with Danny (the kid nephew) other than Josh. And both contemplating good and bad of dating one's boss/employee.BUT, I'm very, very annoyed when they're already get into the relationship, with the use of "baby" as terms of endearment. This is a very personal opinion, okay, might not even sound objective -- but I truly DISLIKE the word "baby" ... it's my least favorite terms of endearment. If it appears once or twice, I can take it, BUT reading those words said by Josh, over and over again just rubs me in the wrong way. Plus, I prefer reading the men in the story to say each other's name during sex, not using generic word like "baby" -- just to make sure that they actually know who they're sleeping with *grin*. That is why, I sort of skipping pages during the last two chapters; and practically don't care about them anymoreIt's not the author's fault what-so-ever, but I think I just don't have "chemistry" with her stories :p
