I rarely give five stars but this Trilogy is up there with Hunger Games and would also make an awesome movie adaptation. The beginning can be a little slow but once it picks up it doesn't let up until the end of the third book. The story is unique and well thought out and executed. There are many surprise twists and elaborate dramas playing out. The author is a very talented writer able to express the situation without having to blatantly say what happened and has expert command over the English vocabulary. Very well written with a great story full of tragic romance, robust characters and an engaging journey. Once upon a time, an angel and devil fell in love. It did not end well. I liked this one. Classified as YA, but still works for an adult audience. And bonus points for not having a love triangle. I will definitely check out the sequel to see how things turn out for Karou and Akiva.*REREAD*The audio book is very well done. I got a lot more out of the story the second time through because I could see the full implications of everything as it happened in the story. Definitely worth a second pass. Book 2 is also excellent.
It's intriguing!!! It's kind of like a breath of new air :)
