Il Risveglio Della Sfinge (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I just finished "Jake Ransom and the Howling Sphinx" and it was a good book. It's about a boy named Jake and his sister who are accidentally go to Pangea. Once there they are meet by their friends Marika, Buck'ukk, and Pindor. They end up in the middle of a desert only to discover its ancient Egypt. Now they have to find a way out of Egypt while also being chased by Kalverum Rex who's determined to kill them. Will they make it out of Egypt? Will they live trough their journey? Read "Jake Ransom and the Howling Sphinx" by James Rollins to find out. The Ottawa Public Library called it "A fast paced, puzzling first rate thriller. I would recommend this book to some one looking for an original adventure book. Book two of the Jake Ransom series did not disappoint. Jake and his friends end up stranded in a desert surrounded by a wind storm that cannot be crossed and held prisoner (again) by . . . Princess Nefertiti? This book hits the ground running and doesn't let up. It was great romp through a distant land melding history and alchemy and quite a bit of adventure. Kalverum Rex is just as nasty in this book as he was in the first, and there is a reunion towards the end that had me near tears. The more I read about Jake and his world, friends, and family, the more I like him. I was especially intrigued with this book and its Ancient Egyptian setting. Unfortunately, the adventure took over so I didn't get to see this world and its workings as much as I did in the first book, but that didn't detract from my enjoyment. I'm eager for the next book, which is hinting at a Norse setting. And Loki! Who doesn't enjoy a good dose of Loki from time to time?
What do You think about Il Risveglio Della Sfinge (2010)?
Just as good as the first one! James Rollins never fails me!
