Izzy & Lenore: Two Dogs, An Unexpected Journey, And Me (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
This is another installment on the activities and occupants of Bedlam Farm. This book centers around two of the author's dogs, Izzy, a rescued border collie and Lenore, a Labrador puppy. It is a story of Katz and Izzy's journey to become experienced hospice volunteers and of Katz's battle with depression, which a sweet and soulful puppy named Lenore helps Katz get through. Heartwarming stories of animals and their significance in human lives, this book is well worth the read. I love Jon Katz books. This book is a quick read, but a very enjoyable one. In it, he introduces us to Izzy and Lenore, the two newest members of his family. The best part of the book in my opinion is the stories about the hospice work that he does with Izzy and the patients that they meet. More than one time I was sobbing from being so moved by the relationship that Izzy forms with each person during this difficult time.

Nice dog story along with some personal growth of the author. Enjoyable read.

The title could be IZZY and JON, as there is not a whole lot about Lenore.
