Jane Yellowrock Tome 04 : La Malédiction Du Corbeau (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
I enjoyed the previous books more. Jane seemed a lot whinier in this book...not at all like the previous books, although it's been an increasing trend. More convenient "forgetting" of important details to crank up the drama. I liked Jane as a protagonist a lot more in the first book. I think it's possible to have character growth without proceeding to do so in an annoying fashion. Based on the previous books, I'll be giving the next one a try and hope it improves. The dislike I have for Rick went down a bit since the 3rd book, but I still don't like him because every time he's near some woman he's all flirting and smiling all the while telling Jane that he wants her.Somehow I don't believe him, but that didn't stop Jane from semi-going back to him.If she doesn't like Bruiser and Leo, well we have a new vamp in the mix Greg-something and I would really rather her be with one of those options, even though it keeps giving me flashes of Anita Blake series and all the things that went wrong there. So I'm somehow torn between wanting more romance away from Rick and towards the vamps, which will make it more like that train wrack, and preying that no other series ever turns out like that so maybe I should we satisfied with what it is now.Did I mention how much Rick reminds me of Richard-bastard? I can feel the "no, I don't want to be a were, I don't want to kill to protect myself so I'll let my girlfriend do that work and keep my conscious. And after we breakup I'll still call her to save my ass which got in trouble when the little head was in control". Yup total flashback to Blue Moon.
What do You think about Jane Yellowrock Tome 04 : La Malédiction Du Corbeau (2014)?
I enjoy this series and this world but Jane was being a bit too much of a guilt ridden martyr in this one. Everything bad that happened wasn't her fault and (without getting into spoilers) I felt that what was going on with Molly's sister was completely not Jane's fault. But she was just on and on about how much she blames herself. It's nice that she cares about other people but it just made parts of the book a bit of a slog. But it's a good series and I enjoy Jane's world for the most part so I'm looking forward to the next and hope that she snaps out of it a bit.

Loved it. Only two books left. I am going to be sad when this series is over!
