Bear Feels Scared is a wonderful children's book about friendship. The bear goes out, it gets dark and he gets lost. All of his other animal friends get worried so they go out in the storm and look for him. When they find him, they bring him back to his den and put a blanket over him to keep him warm. The book also has rhyming words, which makes it more interesting for young children. I would use this book in a lesson about the importance of friendship. What child cannot relate to being lost and/or scared of the dark? In this rhyming tale, Bear and his friends return to comfort children and let them know to stay put if they get lost, and that it is okay to be scared in the dark. We have enjoyed all of the books in this series and although our girls are beginning to outgrow them, we will likely look for more in the future. In the meantime, we will look for others written by Karma Wilson!
What do You think about Karul On Hirm (2008)?
Kids love this series, and they work very well for read aloud.
