Given their relationship, Karen wasn’t surprised when Kelly didn't ask her to be a bridesmaid. Still, she was a little sad. She knew her mother would have wanted them to resolve their differences before now and would have wanted the sisters to play bigger roles in each other's lives. It was on Karen's shoulders to make the first move, and here she was. Better late than never. The ceremony was in ten minutes, and this was supposed to be Kelly's time alone to compose herself. Karen didn't want to intrude, but she didn't have much choice. She had tried to schedule drinks Thursday night, here at the Plumpjack resort, but Kelly had too many last-minute details to handle. Breakfast and lunch yesterday were booked, and of course last night was the rehearsal dinner. Even if Karen had been able to get Kelly alone, she'd been so distracted by Mike she wouldn't have been able to focus enough to say what she needed to say. Karen couldn't blame Kelly for avoiding her.
