Lauren Conrad Style (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

Great phototherapy but the advice is common sense (most of the time). Can't say I learned anything new but I did enjoy flipping through it and learning about the different necklace lengths. I'd like to know how much she spent on the dress she told us she wouldn't disclose how much she spent on it. Also I didn't like how she stated her dislike for kitten heels but then again I can't walk in high heels so maybe that's just me. Her Pinterest page is amazing. This book, not so much. I picked up this book because this woman is known for her great sense of fashion. I stumbled on her Pinterest page a few months back and fell in love with her style. I thought that this book would be an extension of her page. Sadly, it wasn't.This was probably the most basic fashion book that I've ever read. She listed a bunch of "Fashion Essentials" which were really no different from something that you would read about in any fashion magazine. Nothing new. I was expecting beautiful pictures of her many fashion looks, but that was not the case. There were only a few pictures of her dressed in fashionable digs, and in most of those photos, she looked uncomfortable. If I buy a book on fashion, it's because I'm hoping to find insider secrets along with new content and beautiful photography. This was not that book.I would not read it again and I would not recommend it. Just pick up your nearest Teen Vogue to save a couple of bucks.

Style by Lauren Conrad is a informational book about fashion. Lauren Conrad teaches you the perfect outfits for work/school and how to take that look and take it to a night out in town.I rate this book 4 stars it helps you take two different clothing pieces and make them look amazing together with some black heels and a red rose statement necklace.I guess you could say the protagonist is Lauren teaching you all the tips and tricks, and the antagonist would be the bad fashion taking cargo green pants and a mustard yellow top with high top converse. The theme of the book was confidence in yourself and what you wear.-SG
